Exmouth wake up and smell the flowers

With so much going on locally and all across Devon we must have a forum that allows discussion between the residents (electors) that is going to give us all the best chance of influencing the politicians about the future of our town and its environment

TESCO Grrrr

My dearly beloved and I went up to our Exmouth tesco store this afternoon. It being quite an outing for her now, sad isn't it? But when a person is in such pain and with her other disabilities unable to get about like she would like it is an event to get her to go somewhere other than the doctors for dressings or the RD&E for treatment.
Anyhow enough of that. We did a shop this afternoon, filled our trolley and the boss wanted to have some me time wheeling herself about in her chair without me guiding her to places I wanted her to go. Having been dispatched to pay for the shopping and put it in the car whilst she roamed along the shelves. I did just that at a cost of a mere £43 and went back to find her. There she was in her chair arms full of more goodies and a DVD that is advertised as being reduced to £9 if you spend £30 in the store. At the check out no chance! No go even though we had the till receipt with our club card details on it dated and timed within 10 minutes of our second visit to a check out. Just pay another £30 and then you get the DVD for £9. This was not stated on the promotional literature and despite a visit to the managers desk the check out operator was not able to change this. Result!! My beloved and I left the store as disgruntled customers and left our second load of goods at the check out, and they are still charging 4p a litre more for their diesel than their Exeter store
Roll on ASDA Lidle any one!!

Elizabeth hall lives on.. for a while

Organisations have been able to book Elizabeth hall for car boot sales and fete's etc next summer. This is still listed as a temporary measure. Exmouth carnival has been told to check with the Estates office at EDDC in January before making its final arangements for summer fun time. If the hall is not available for the fun time fair to operate in July and August carnival will have to look carefully at its October Illuminated carnival to see if any costs can be cut.

The legal review is about to happen.

EDDC having made an application to the High court have been awarded a hearing before the end of the year. Our money is being put on the line to save the faces of EDDC councillors and employees.
No thought about consulting the population properly the post cards that have been sent out by EDDC at our expense received the sort of replies one would have expected. Tory supporters sent them back to EDDC for sending on to the Boundaries committee as being a cross section of the views expressed by the electorate.
